Princeton High School Reviews

I had previously entered a positive rating for this school under (I have three boys in the PHS system), my oldest is now a Junior. Unfortunately I would no longer recommend this school. Teachers leave alot to be desired, as do the transparent or invisible assistance from the faculty and administration. The AP and IB programs are great if you don't mind your child staying up till 1A.M. or 2 A.M. every night to finish their homework, and having no social life to speak of.

I have three boys attending Princeton schools, my oldest is a soph. at the high school, he is in Marching band, and a few sports, he seems very happy, as the matter of fact we are selling our home and he does not want to leave. The academics are great, my son has a 3.91 GPA, he was in the honors although we took him out due to the homework lasting till midnight or later every night. With Ap or IB the students who complete will get an education of a lifetime, There are excellent opportunities for scholarship, this school prepares the kids for college and life, this school is what the individual makes it, as in any large school there are opportunities both good and bad. Our opinion on safety and securrity is that it is top shelf, there are very few fights and discipline actions are swift. Go Vikes!

As a 2003 graduate I have to say I cannot think of any other school that is better. Princeton prepares you for college both academically and socially. Princeton offers everything from a strong band program to computer programming. There are also a number of trade classes, too. I was able to participate in a number of sports but academics were always emphasized as coming first. I will be honest and say that the adminastration does have some issues but the teachers are beyond compare. Even with advanced curriculum such as AP and International Baccalaureate, it was the great teachers that made the difference in both lower and higher level courses. This combined with the social diversity gave me real world learning. Safety was never an issue either. Security did its job and I always felt safe. Princeton is a school filled with opportunities and one can easily succeed.

When I left Princeton High School in 1998, the school had just began to turn for the worst. I disagree with anyone who says that there is not a general problem and try to blame certain students from what they deem 'problem' areas. There is certainly a difference in treatment between students from different communities. There are many good teachers at the school, but (as is the case everywhere) there are some bad apples. Social prejudice is a real problem here.

As a parent and teacher of Princeton High School, I am very fortunate that my three daughters have graduated with not only the best education, but the life learning experiences that will make them prepared for life. The two who are already in college had all the tools they needed to be successful at their university. The school is safe, if it wasn't, why would I teach and allow my daughters to attend such a school. All students are given the best education, no matter the level. The low economics of many of our students should have no bearance if a school is safe - that would be a biased statement. The Pride is back in Princeton. Get involved and support Princeton. You'll be glad you did.

It depends on which part of the community that you come from. That is what will determine what type of education you receive at Princeton. Someone needs to take a hard look at what is occurring in that district.

I attended Sharonville Elementary, Princeton Jr. High and Princeton High School (Freshman Year Only). I loved the Princeton City School District and all the schools I attended. I wished I could of graduated from the High School, but had to move to Kentucky with my family. Keep up the great work Princeton! Go Vikings!!

Princeton is a once-great district now in decline. The influx of the low socio-economic scale of residents and lack of the community to emphasize the importance of education in society has crippled this district. So much is given to the lower and upper ends of the education scale that the majority of kids in the middle get left out. The district is facing financial issues yet refuses to trim staff and teachers. The test scores are teetering on academic watch. Excellent hs school principals handcuffed by micro-managing Board of Education and superintendent. Lots of great programs but school safety a real concern. Kids are out of control, and parents won't take any responsibility.

My daughter graduated from the school last year, and my son is a freshman, and I have found that Princeton graduates are better prepared than their peers for college. The quality of the education at Princeton is extremely high, with opportunites for extracurricular activites in sports, music, computers science incredible. Neither of my children have been involved with fights or have ever felt afraid in the building. The teachers and programs are unlike any other high school in our area. Come take a look at the school before you judge.

Princeton High School is great. Yes, there are issues that must we weathered, however the high school and district is one of the most -if not the most- racially and socio-economicly diverse sytem in the country. One of my daughters currently attends the high school. One graduated a short time ago. We often talk about the quality of the high school. By the way, our experience has been: teachers bend over backgrounds to ensure student success. They are responsive to e-mails and voicemails. Very few schools offer a curricula so diverse and so many extra curricular opportunities. We have found all principals to be receptive and involved with indiividual students.

Both my sons have gone to this school. One is currently in 10th grade. I find the school has an overwhelming amount of problems. The kids with a few problems slip through the cracks. Fighting is a constant. Fighting that makes the news! It really isn't a racial issue according to my sons, because everyone fights each other. Teachers seem well qualified however but you may not hear of an academic problem from them before it's to late. Princeton has too many students and the adminstration and hall guards can't handle them. Drugs and theft are also a problem. That's in the news also. However, both my sons enjoy the social and extracurricular activities.
